The Last Look At Mother

Of all the tragic scenes in life there’s one I can’t forget

The memory of a little girl still lingers with me yet

The sad remarks I heard her say we’re more than I could stand

While she stood sadly pleading holding her daddy’s hand

Let me have another look at mother

Daddy please oh let me have just one more look

Her little heart was breaking through tears oh how she sighed

For one last look at mother please daddy please she cried

She didn’t seem to understand why mother had to leave

Her blinding tears were falling oh how my heart did grieve

Her little friends were standing by their hearts in sad despair#

Each time she called to mommy oh please don’t leave me here

Her daddy slowly picked her up and whispered words to her

The sorrow he was hiding was more than he could bear

She held him tightly in her arms these words I heard her say

Oh daddy we will miss her will she come back some day

Let me have a another look at mother

Daddy please oh let me have just one more look

Her little heart was breaking through tears oh how she cried

For one last look at mother when they closed her inside
