Subconscious Mind

I thought last night that I saw someone

I really ought to know

Then I stopped for a while and tried to remember

Cause that’s been so long ago

Just couldn’t place that sweet little face

Like words to some old love song

But I whispered a name I thought I’d forgotten

That my foolish heart belonged

A subconscious mind plays tricks sometimes

Like a little voice whispering within

And dreams have a way of bringing back yesterday

And my foolish heart ever win

Seems so very strange how old memories

Can come back and knock on your door

Before last night I thought I had forgotten

But today I’m not so sure
