The Great Judgment Morning

G
C
I dreamed that the great judgment morning
G
D7
Had dawned and the trumpet had blown
G
C
I dreamed that all nations had gathered
G
D7
G
To judgment before the white throne
C
From the throne came a bright shining angel
G
D7
And he stood on the land and the sea
G
C
And swore with his hand raised to heaven
G
D7
G
That time was no longer to be
C
And oh what weeping and wailing
G
D7
As the lost were told of their fate
G
C
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
G
D7
G
They prayed but their prayers were too late
C
The rich man was there but his money
G
D7
Had melted and vanished away
G
C
A pauper stood there in the judgment
G
D7
G
His debts were too many to pay
C
The great man was there but his greatness
G
D7
When death came was left far behind
G
C
The angel that opened the records
G
D7
G
No trace of his greatness could find
C
And oh what weeping and wailing
G
D7
As the lost were told of their fate
G
C
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
G
D7
G
They prayed but their prayers were too late
C
The widow was there and the orphan
G
D7
God heard and remembered their cries
G
C
No sorrow in heaven forever
G
D7
G
God wiped all the tears from their eyes
C
The gambler was there and the drunkard
G
D7
And they who had sold them the drink
G
C
With people who gave them the license
G
D7
G
Together in hell they did sink
C
And oh what weeping and wailing
G
D7
As the lost were told of their fate
G
C
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
G
D7
G
They prayed but their prayers were too late
C
The mortal man to the judgment
G
D7
But self righteousness would not do
G
C
For the men who had crucified Jesus
G
D7
G
Had passed off as mortal men too
C
And the souls that had put off salvation
G
D7
Not tonight I’ll get saved by and by
G
C
No time now to think of religion
G
D7
G
At last they had found time to die
C
And oh what weeping and wailing
G
D7
As the lost were told of their fate
G
C
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
G
D7
G
They prayed but their prayers were too late
